BSCCA started in the year 2000 and has progressed over the years. BSCCA began with a group a neighbors who would come together and clean the streets the evening before trash day. “Meet Me at the Curb” was the slogan, and from there came an awareness of other issues that existed in the community, and the desire to do more for the neighborhood.

BSCCA continues to be a strong force in our neighborhood. BSCCA has done a number of works to better the neighborhood and bring resources to our community.

The association shall be devoted to the maintenance and furtherance of the civic, recreational, economic, educational and cultural aspects of the Community and shall have, without limitation, the following objectives: It is our mission to initiate the revitalization of our community in a varied approach. Improvement of the quality of life for the citizens of the community is a major objective. We seek to organize the residents of the community into a cohesive working group. The organized group will work towards the betterment of the neighborhood by seeking blight removal and construction of new housing. We will work on economic development and entrepreneurial creativity in the community. We will seek ways to help develop youth programs and foster the educational development of our children. We will encourage and promote safety awareness within the community.

The Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association (BSCCA) is a non-profit, non-partisan, organization established within the city of Philadelphia.
